DIY Backyard Grey (and brown!) wedding
This wedding inspires me as it brings not only hues of grey but brown as well, and it would be easy to incorporate yellow and even hints of gold (which I associate with yellow as I plan to have a gold ring and tiny hints of gold throughout the themeing).
Its also one of my favourites, cos like me, this girl wore flats to her wedding. I don’t wear heels and love seeing a bride not think that to be gorgeous you need to wear something thats uncomfortable and unpractical.

DIY Cupcake Bar
I discovered this amazing DIY idea for a wedding or just a fun party at home.
Things I discovered:
Putting a ring of icing around the top is a great way to fill cupcakes with éxtras such as sprinkels, syrup, lollies anything!..or provide icing/frosting in containers so that people can do the whole topping as they please!
We frosted cupcakes with a just a ring of frosting so the toppings could fill the holes in the middles.

Beautiful Brooch Bouquets
Hi, Its been a while as I have been house-sitting with a very unreliable wireless connection for the last month.
Back home and back to blogging about amazing things again, like these amazingly well designed and gorgeous (not to mention eco-friendly) bouquets designed by Fantasy Floral Designs.
I am not sure if I would have one, but then again, it makes a gorgeous statement about you as an individual and you could get the colour themes to suit you and not only that but elements within the bouquet could represent you and your partner as well.

DIY Project: Cupcake Wrappers.
I would love to do this for a dessert table. I posted a doily lantern earlier this week and these wrappers are doily-riffic!.
Here is how, courtesy of. http://www.intimateweddings.com/blog/cupcake-wrappers-made-from-doilies-free-cupcake-wrapper-template/
and also here:
These gorgeous Cupcake Wrappers from Intimate Weddings are surprisingly simple to make! Made from doilies, they are just stunning and you can match them to your wedding or event theme simply by changing the colour or pattern of the doily.
Here is the free cupcake wrapper template download.
You will need:
• Paper doilies (Mine were just over 11 inches.)
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Glue stick
Instructions:
• Cut out the template. Place the cut out template on the doily.
• Trace along the inside curve and at the ends. Do not trace the outside curve.
• Cut out the cupcake wrapper.
• Using a glue stick, add glue to one of the edges of the wrapper. Wrap around cupcake and adhere. Fini! Wasn’t that a breeze? BTW, if you don’t want white cupcake wrappers, you can buy paper doilies in a myriad of colours online.
Tip: If you lack patience, you can stack multiple doilies on top of each other and cut out several at a time.Posted on October 28, 2010 with 2 notes

I love the way this suprise wedding I came across a while ago. I love it cos a) it was a suprise, b) it was very DIY, c) it was unique.
This wedding inspires my foodie side for the wedding, such as the scones and the chip boxes andoh the little cheese cubes on a stick heehee.
Simple but gorgeous.

DIY Cake Stands..I really love the idea of creating my own cake stands as I want to make our wedding as green as possible but also still ‘us’. I saw this pic online at http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ which used gorgeous vintage yellow floral plates and I’m sold. I have already started collecting plates and candle sticks for the day!
Design Sponge also has a great DIY page, check it out on the link below :)

Paper Doily Lanterns
This looks like something you could get from a boutique..here is how to do it yourself..such a great idea for a unique decoration at a wedding or reception event.
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut a bunch of doilies in half.Step 2: For the top few doilies, cut out a semi-circle so it will fit around the opening at the top of the lantern. Turn over and place double-sided tape on the wrong side.
Step 3: Stick to the top of the lantern. Repeat with another two or three doily halves until the top opening is circled. You might need to overlap a few of the doilies slightly to fit but try and get it as even as possible.
Step 4: Place double-sided tape on the wrong sides of the halved doilies at the top.
Step 5: Stick underneath the top doilies in the middle of the gaps, so they’re overlapped like fish scales.
Step 6: Continue all the way around and down to the bottom. For the final layer, you might need to cut a doily into quarters to fill the leftover space.

What You’ll Need (for the pinwheels) I loved these as they had yellow in them something like I will make for my own wedding.
Several sheets of 12″ x 12″ double sided scrapbook or decorative paper (a lighter weight paper, not stiff, heavy card stock)Round-headed pins12″ wooden dowelsHot glue gun and glue sticksA push pinFlower shaped craft punchA pair of scissorsA rulerPinwheel Instructions
1. Begin by measuring and cutting several 6″ inch squares out of your paper.
2. Find the center of your one of the squares and mark it by poking a hole through it with your pushpin. (see figure 1)
3. Lay your paper pattern side down, and use your ruler to draw diagonal lines from each corner to make an “X”. (see figure 1)
4. Cut along the diagonal lines, from all four corners, stopping one inch before you meet the hole in the center of your paper. (see figure 2)
5. Use your pushpin to make a hole in the right hand corner of each side of the square, just to the left of the line you just cut. (see figure 3)
6. Use your punch to cut out a paper flower. Stick your round-headed pin through the center of the flower. (see figure 3)
7. One by one, bring each of the four pin-holed corners to the center and stick the flower and pin through each of the four holes. (see figure 4 and 5)
8. Next, put the pin through the hole in the center of the square and set aside.
9. Make a pilot hole, using your pushpin, 1/2 inch down from the end of the dowel.
10. Put a drop of hot glue on the hole, and quickly insert the pin that runs through the pinwheel center into the glue and dowel. (see figure 6 and 7) Be careful not to let the pinwheel paper touch the glue on the dowel while it’s drying. If it sticks, it can’t spin.
11. Arrange your completed pinwheels in a vase or container like flower stems.
What it Costs(to make 12 pinwheels)4 sheets of paper @ $.50 each = $2.00Package of 12 dowels = $2.00Box of pins = $2Total = $6
